Underground Unit - Network for inclusion and digitalisation in caving
▶Summary
The "Underground Unit" project lays the foundations for the creation of a network for the exchange of knowledge and good practices between organisations working in the field of caving. The project involves two non-governmental organisations in the field of sport but, during implementation, new contacts throughout Europe will be made and, by the end of the project, the network will be ready to expand and continue working on a larger scale. The network’s efforts will focus primarily on the acquisition of knowledge, training of technicians and transfer of experiences in adapted caving techniques aimed at people with disabilities. Adventure and nature sports in general, and caving in particular, lack participation of people with disabilities, and our project will fill in some of the existing gaps in this field, adapting techniques used in other sectors and promoting inclusion in the practice of caving. The digital transformation, providing both organisations with tools for better performance both at this stage and in the future, is another of the project's objectives and a cross-cutting tool at the same time, enabling participants to increase their digital literacy and reduce their digital footprint, among others.
