VALUES - enVironmentAL and historical edUcation in Europe throug Sport

The project "enVironmentAL and historical edUcation in Europe throug Sport" aims to experiment a method already tested at national level in France by CRUSEP AURA, which uses physical activity – in specific, hiking and urban trekking - as a teaching tool to develop not only motor skills, but also soft skills such as critical observation, critical thinking, the desire to learn, logical thinking and research, with a particular focus on history teaching, and therefore European historical and cultural knowledge. The method in fact provides for a path that extends over the entire school year, and which includes several excursions in places of historical memory of the different partner countries carried out by teachers and students.The project is based on testing good practice already effective in some French schools, and carried out by the partner CRUSEP AURA. The initiative, entitled "Les Chemins de la Memoire", involves primary and secondary students of first degree in a didactic path that combines the teaching of history with physical activity and respect for the environment. . The primary objective of the project is to spread this good practice at a European level, experimenting it also in other countries and creating a methodological manual that can be used by teachers from all over Europe. The project addresses the following Erasmus+ horizontal priorities : "European Green Deal, Climate Change" and "A new push for European Democracy". The project also matches the Sport priorities Encouraging Participation in Sport and Physical Activities and Promoting Education in and Through Sport. The project also intends to contribute to the following goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the UN: Goal 3 Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages; Goal 4 Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all Goal 5 Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
