Summary

Project “WE-THE GUARDIANS” aim is: to enhance capacities of sport clubs and youth organizations for establishing policies and practices on safeguarding and protection of young people in sport activities. 4 objectives:OB1-To map the most common types of violence experienced in sport among youth age 15-30, as well as practices and policies of safeguarding in sport clubs and NGO’s using sport as education methodology in Europe;OB2-Increase awareness and capacities of Sport Staff on understanding, identifying, responding to negative and risky behaviors’ of young people;OB3-Develop a comprehensive safeguarding and protection policy through a cross-sector dialogue; OB4-Create online guidelines which will allow clubs to increase the capacities of other members of the clubs on the policies of safeguarding and protecting young people within the sport activities. 10 planned activities:2 online meetings of the consortium; assessment; in-person meeting; capacity building training; adopting safeguarding and protection policies; development of online manual; web development; advocacy and multiplication; online promotion. Main beneficiaries-12 staff members from two youth organizations and two swimming clubs, from Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia. Project expected results;R.1 Produced 1 report of the assessment on types of violence and practices and policies of safeguarding in Europe;R.2 12 staffs from the members of consortium will have the capacities of to understand, identify, and respond to violence in sport;R.3 Safeguarding and protection policy adopted from 2 sports clubs and 2 youth organizations R.4 12 staffs of members of consortium will have the skills to advocate for safeguarding and protection policy adaptation;R.5 3 Sport federation, 15 sports clubs and 15 youth organization will be presented with the safeguarding policy. R.6 1 Online manual produced on steps to adopt the safeguarding in 4 languages R.7 Web-page “The guardians of youth in sport” established.
