โถSummary
Recently we have seen a growing craze for obstacle courses. Indeed, these sport activities organized all over the world are both fun and allow to work on different positive aspects of sport such as motor skills, coordination and balance. They encourage physical activity in open air, a balanced lifestyle and healthy values. Our project is based on this sport practice and aims to transmit values of surpassing oneself, mutual aid, inclusion and cooperation. The principle of the races that will be designed and organized as part of our project will be to include young people and adults of different profiles, including those with specific needs. They will have to help each other to finish all stages of the race. In addition, we will focus on creating innovative, appropriate and secure obstacles made from recycling materials with the support of committed volunteers who will be trained and mobilized for this task. This aims to promote the spirit of initiative, citizen participation and more particularly sports volunteering activities. In addition, the global pandemic has caused the isolation of people and reduced the possibilities of group sports. Obstacle courses represent an ideal alternative to practice a cooperative sport in open space. In this context, we have decided to develop and implement this small collaborative partnership sport project in order to exchange good practices, develop the capacities of sports educators to design and develop sports initiatives in terms of obstacle courses for young adults, with a view to increase the inclusion through innovative sports practices. With obstacle courses we want to celebrate sport for all, without entering into a performance dynamic that may demotivate some. We see obstacle course as a social activity that can also promote a healthier lifestyle, and which also develops social inclusion, strengthens solidarity, mutual aid and equal opportunities, while adapting obstacles to different capacities and profiles.
