STF - Share The Field

"Share the Field" project aims to adress the unequal access to public space for women and girls as football players. It aims at understanding existing barriers and limitations to girls’ participation in public space and in particular within sports and football, and develop solutions to advance women and girls’ equal participation in sports and access free of harassment and other limitations. The project relies on female coaches trained by the Futebol dá Força Foundation (FDF) and who, with longterm experience of work in this area, will make it possible to highlight the obstacles observed on the pitch and facilitate the identification of best practices. These learnings will be enriched by a co-creational process of exchange of experiences among coaches in France and Sweden. A first stage will take place in Sweden to allow the French coaches to share the experience of the FDF network, which has strong links with national institutions and expertise on the mental and physical well-being of girls. A second stage will be organised in Paris along with the Sine Qua Non association, to allow the coaches to further exchange with associations that support women in their practice whatever their background. This gathering will also be an opportunity to listen to ALL female players, to adress obstacles to equal participation in a holistic and participatory inside-out approach to provide sustainable solutions to advance girls’ access to and participation in sports in public spaces, and further on in federated football clubs. The content that emerges will be transcribed into communication materials, providing coaches with stories of female role models and thus to inspire a new generation of female pioneers who can lead change. The inspirational and engaging content creation will be led by the association Little Miss Soccer to further enhance outreach and longterm utilisation of best practices.
