MAIN GOAL: Encourage equal professional opportunities in the world of sport by combating gender discrimination. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: Raise awareness in the sports world on gender stereotypes. Promote professional opportunities in the sports sector. Involve young people in the organization and implementation of a local sporting event, allowing them to fill the various professional roles necessary for this purpose. Concept: Sport is a sector in which many professional figures rotate... (professional athletes, referees, technicians, managers, communication managers, designers, event organizers… not only athletes!). Considering the low female representation in these professional figures, we want to contribute to the reversal of this trend. We promote career opportunities in sports to make it an attractive sector both for young men and women. The project foresees three phases in which a class of young people will follow an intensive programme: 1) In the first phase, they will be provided with experiences and awareness against gender stereotypes in civil society and a particular focus on sport (which we frame as a contributing cause of the professional gender gap in sport). 2) In the second phase, the class will experience the different professional figures of the sports sector to get in touch with a wide range of possible career opportunities. 3) In the third phase, the class will undergo training in the event projects design. As a result, they will write, organize and implement a local sports event together, allowing them to fill the various professional roles necessary.
