โ–ถSummary

Sustainability and healthy habits promotion, including the participation in physical activities and sports, also at the universities. European universities' sport services are aware and worried by the carbon footprint that their activities are generating, however, some previous experiences and international projects have addressed this issue and suggested alternatives and new ways to reduce it. Green Campus project will address the topic of sustainability at campus from the perspective of the Sport Services. The project aims to support the managers and decision makers at this units within the universities by developing an evidence-based training programme and MOOC specially designed for them, by experts in the sustainability and sport sciences areas. Thanks to the training, these professionals will be able to know more about how to apply sustainability measures at their higher-education institutions, and moreover, to design and implement their own strategic plan for their university from the sport service perspective. In addition, an APP to promote those strategies will be designed and developed, as the most efficient and popular way to disseminate the project activities. To complete the rationale of the project, a Green Campus Seal will be created. This seal will be issued to universities that voluntarily request to be evaluated regarding their sustainable and healthy-lifestyle promotion actions related to their sport services.
