Summary

The concept of the Virtual Exposition of Czech and Slovak Olympic Heritage (VECSOH) reflects almost 70-year history of common representation of athletes from Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic, together representing the common state of Czechoslovakia at the Olympic Games and Winter Olympic Games. The VECSOH project will make collection items referring to the sports achievements of the representatives of the common state of Czechs and Slovaks accessible to the public in one place. The goal of the project is to improve coordination on digital education at the EU level and to contribute to research exchange of good practice and research experimentation. The digitization of sport achievements´ collectibles, photographs, archive documents and other objects of participating partners and accessing through the newly created online platform of the VECSOH will contribute to easier accessibility of these artifacts for public, especially for audience with health disability ang geographical barriers and supports their social and educational inclusion. Online accessible collection of Slovak and Czech athletes’ achievements related objects enables more effective and flexible cooperation with schools in both countries in various informal educational programmes and trainings, especially focused on healthy life style and Olympic values. The project supports integrity and positive values in sport promotion. The legacy of joint representation achievements as well as examples of continuing cooperation in many sectors, including sport even after the dissolution of common state is an inspiring example of overcoming differences and different interests for other countries in Europe and in the world. The project will help to establish multinational and multisectoral partnership for further cooperation in the field of sporty history study and research, educational activities, the Olympic values enforcement.
