CLIMBIT - From Horizontal to Vertical

CLIMBIT project aim promote climbing, bouldering and scrambling among hikers and encourage girls and women to experience different aspects of the outdoors sport and improve their skills. Objectives of the project: - to promote climbing, bouldering and scrambling among girls and women, - to enhance hiking outdoor experience and gaining new skills in climbing, bouldering and scrambling, - to establish a sustainable transnational network of hikers and climbers in Europe aiming to exchange good practices and experiences, - o promote climbing accessible to all and practicable in natural environments without expensive equipment and infrastructure, CLIMBIT project objectives will be fulfilled through foreseen 4 international trainings, local sport events and awareness campaign. Four international trainings in 3 partner countries (Slovakia, Austria and Hungary) will be organized for mixed group of women and man hikers and specialized in> (1) Introduction to climbing, (2) Scrambling training (3) Bouldering training and (4) Climbing training. Direct target group: Mountain guides, members of hiking clubs and active hikers and climbers, youth workers and youth leaders, youngsters with fewer opportunities (with attention to girls and women). Lessons learned during three international trainings will be disseminated and multiplied during sport events in each partner country (5) national sport event CLIMBIT Slovakia, (6) sport event CLIMBIT Austria and national sport event CLIMBIT Hungary, (7). Awareness campaign on how to move in mountains in different conditions will be achieved through (8) collecting powerful testimonies of participants during international and national events and publishing online. (9) The CLIMBIT Open Day β Final meeting Hungary will be an opportunity to discuss the participation of women in sports considered a "male" sport in each of the partner countries.
