Summary

Main objective of ECO-RACKETS project is to promote sport as a tool for health by developing a non-formal training method that connects sports activities, inclusion efforts and sustainable environment issues using an innovative approach in 3 aspects: -Target group-the project will work with mediators (badminton coaches and physical education (PE) teachers) who, in a professional or personal aspect, are committed to the development of children's and adolescents’ life skills and also working with adults -Tools-the project will increase physical activity levels through intergenerational interaction based on traditional games as a tool and using mobility equipment for various rackets’ sports playground -Environment-it will promote new rackets sports which are eco-friendly, accessible, interactive, assuring distance between players, but bonding them in the play Thus, the project will build environmentally friendly habits and increase physical activity The project will promote sport as a method of non-formal environmental education through the implementation of the following activities: -Up-skilling racket sports coaches and PE teachers for promoting eco-friendly rackets’ sports by considering environmental protection–3 workshops based on a special methodology for initial training of racket sport coaches -Ensure mobility of sport infrastructure–the new mobile racket sport equipment will encourage physical activity and environmental protection -Promoting eco-friendly racket sports through conducting 24 demonstrations for 4 months in 3 countries -Validating the skills gathered during the trainings of coaches and PE teachers among 120 children and adolescents in all partner countries through demonstrations and sport trainings The ECO-RACKETS CALENDARS will be elaborated as a dissemination and sustainable tool allowing all interested organisations to apply for participation in “eco-rackets’ green games” as a means of promoting sustainable and responsible urban initiatives.
