DUOP - Dual Opportunities for Rugby

The main goal of this project is to contribute solving two common problems present in all participating countries that fall in the fields of both education and sport: - the lack of awareness on the needs and problems of Dual Career (DC) athletes and the competencies required for staff in sport clubs to provide support to DC athletes - the lack of awareness of young athletes and their parents on tools available to them and competencies required to balance the DC This is especially more true for minor sports such as rugby is in our countries, therefore we decided to arrange this consortium of partners to address this problem through rugby organizations. To this end we have determined the following specific objectives: O.1. At the end of the project, we will have developed a network of collaboration and communication between the participating organisations that allows for the improvement of organisational practices,and exchange of experiences O.2. Raise awareness of at least 15 sports organizations on the problematic of DC and DC competencies for staff as support providers O.3. Provide useful information to and raise awareness of at least 80 young athletes and 50 of their relatives O.4. Inform on DC problematic and build DC competencies for support providers for the staff of the consortium's partners O.5. By month 10, we will have drawn up a report on the situation and needs of DC athletes in the participating countries, serving as a basis for designing support services.
