HiHorse - Horse riding lessons and active holidays for
▶Summary
The project “Hello, horse” involves 3 partner organizations: Drustvo Barka (Zbilje, Slovenia), Arka Korablja (Zagreb, Croatia), and Equestrian Club Istra Star (Medulin, Croatia). It focuses on encouraging physical activity for adults with intellectual disabilities (PID) and promoting inclusion and diversity in horse-riding activities. Drustvo Barka provides services to PIDs for over 26 years, and Arka Korablja for over 15 years. Equestrian Club Istra Star’s field of expertise is horse-riding activities for different age groups, and they operate in this area for over 12 years. The organizations will combine their expertise in working with PIDs and organizing horse-riding activities to develop and implement annual horse-riding and active holiday programs, that are appropriate for aging/elderly people with different kinds of mild and moderate intellectual disabilities. As a result of the “Hello, horse” project, partner organizations will: (1) Develop a structured and inclusive horse-riding programme adapted to the needs of aging PID (2) Regularly involve at least 40 PID in horse-riding activities over a period of 2 years (3) Develop a structured and inclusive active holidays programme for PID, primarily centered around horse-riding (4) Organise 4 active holidays for 4 smaller groups of people with different backgrounds (total number of 40 people) (e.g. young people with fewer opportunities, adults with intellectual disabilities, etc.) (5) Connect with other similar organizations from Slovenia, Istria, and Croatia proper region. Although Drustvo Barka has a diverse portfolio of over 30 projects funded through different national and EU programmes, it is a newcomer to the Erasmus+ programme. The Equestrian Club Istra Star has also experience in smaller projects, but not international ones. Arka Korablja is the only partner that has experience in Erasmus+ projects, but it is only one project that it just started implementing and it is another programme – KA1. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
