SWF - Sport for the Whole Family
▶Summary
The project Sport for the Whole Family aims at encouraging the participation of the European population in sport and physical activity, focusing especially on the target group of families. The data available on participation in Sport in the EU countries shows the need to ideate new ways to involve families in sport, across different ages, but also to give families instruments to benefit of the educational and social value of sport, that is widely recognized by the scientific community. In this framework, “Sport for the Whole Family”, aims at creating a program of sport activities accessible by people of different ages, to be spread at European level by training of sport coaches and implementing of a local program for families in each partner country. To reach this global purpose, we aimed at achieving the following specific objectives: • To develop a program of activities and strategies to make sport activity accessible for intergenerational groups, involving 1 sport manager and 2 sport coaches and from each partner country, who will participate in 4 international meetings; • To conduct a survey aimed at identifying specific needs and resources on the current sport offer for families on the European countries, reaching a minimum of 200 people (sport coaches and families); • To implement a test local program, involving at least 20 families for each partner country (and to implement more after the project’s end; • To realize an interactive web platform for sport coaches and families, where these audience will have access to the results and contents of the project, and to a local and European network of “Sport for the Whole family” initiatives. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
