Summary

The "Combatting Doping in Recreational Sports" project is a groundbreaking initiative designed to infuse the sports sector with the core values of health, integrity, and fair play. Launched by a consortium of partners with deep expertise in anti-doping, sports ethics, and education, this project adopts a comprehensive 5-step methodology aimed at eradicating the menace of doping from recreational sports. Beginning with a thorough preparatory phase that includes logistical planning and strategic meetings, the project progresses into an extensive research phase to explore and address the prevalence of doping, particularly focusing on Eastern Europe's unique challenges. Key activities include the development and dissemination of educational programs, capacity building of anti-doping instructors, and a series of follow-up activities aimed at embedding anti-doping practices within the community. The project culminates in a significant conference on anti-doping practices in Eastern Europe, alongside a final evaluation and reporting phase to assess impact and sustainability. Through strategic collaboration, innovative training, and community engagement, the project seeks to foster a clean and ethical sporting environment, where athletes compete on equal footing, free from the influence of performance-enhancing substances. This initiative not only aims to bridge the data gap in Eastern Europe regarding doping but also sets a precedent for future anti-doping efforts, ensuring the longevity and integrity of recreational sports. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
