ECID - Esports Coaching for Inclusion and Development
โถSummary
Esports Coaching for Inclusion and Development. Esports is rapidly expanding as a structured activity for youth across Europe, offering valuable opportunities for teamwork, cognitive development, and digital skills. However, grassroots esports coaching remains fragmented, with no widely accepted European coaching framework to ensure best practices in mentoring young players. Many grassroots coaches come from a competitive gaming background but lack structured pedagogical training, resulting in inconsistent coaching approaches across different countries. This project brings together European partners from different esports ecosystems to address this gap by developing a collaborative and inclusive coaching framework for grassroots esports. By exchanging knowledge and methodologies across borders, we will enhance the competencies of grassroots esports coaches, ensuring they can provide structured, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate coaching for young players. Through this European cooperation, we will integrate insights from traditional sports coaching, education sciences, and digital well-being research to create a shared esports coaching methodology that can be adopted across multiple national contexts. The project will empower small-scale actors and less experienced organizations by lowering the threshold for participation in esports coaching at a European level. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
