PaMoCon - Play. Move. Connect: Strengthening families
▶Summary
The project aims to promote family-inclusive sports participation by equipping sports organizations, educators, and communities with the necessary training, methodologies, and digital resources. Recognizing the barriers that prevent families from engaging in shared physical activities—such as lack of structured opportunities, time constraints, and motivation—the project develops an innovative, scalable model and approach for intergenerational sports programs. Through needs assessments in Portugal, North Macedonia, and Serbia, the project gathers insights to tailor capacity-building workshops for PE teachers, educators, youth workers and coaches. These workshops provide practical tools for designing inclusive family sports programs, ensuring sustainable implementation. The pilot family sports sessions allow organizations to test and refine the methodology in real settings, while the Family Day dissemination events engage local communities in structured sports activities, fostering long-term participation. Key project outputs include the Family Sports Training Manual and the Online Toolkit, providing practical guidance, best practices, and instructional content for sports organizations to sustainably integrate family-inclusive programs. The project’s transnational approach enhances collaboration between partners, facilitating the exchange of expertise and best practices. By fostering social inclusion, intergenerational bonding, and lifelong engagement in sports, the project directly contributes to Erasmus+ priorities, including inclusion and community engagement. Its replicable and scalable model ensures a lasting impact, making structured family sports participation accessible across diverse communities in Europe that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
