YouthSportCV - Empowering young people to assess
▶Summary
YouthSportCV is a transnational and cross-sectoral initiative gathering professionals from the fields of sport, youth and employability in order to address the issue of high rate of youth unemployment in EU countries. The Partnership is represented by seven organizations from seven EU countries. A general project objective is to contribute towards young people’s employability with a special focus on NEETs, and increase their employment opportunities, promoting the recognition of their soft skills acquired in practicing sports. In this regard, the project meets a specific Call priority for the field of sport “promoting education in and through sport”, in particular “promoting employability through sport” and “supporting skills development in sport”. The project methodology is based on two approaches: 1) creation of alliances and synergies within three Pilot territories (Barcelona, Lisbon and Athens) between sport organizations, youth & social organizations working with young NEETs and potential employers towards better young people’s employability; 2) understanding of self-assessment of skills as an important factor for young people’s soft skills development, its recognition and measure. The core project Deliverable is an innovative digital platform for self-assessment of young people’s social skills acquired in sport and their certification. The Consortium plans to involve in the project implementation approximately 250 young people and connect them with 30 employers. The project partners believe that YouthSportCV will contribute to promotion of sport as a unique opportunity for young people especially those not in employment, education or training to develop their soft skills that can positively influence their future employment opportunities. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
