Summary

Background Advances in digital technologies open up new perspectives for development and challenges in economic, social and cultural aspects. The cultural sector, which is still seen as predominantly traditional, highly dependent on traditional economic and social paradigms and not yet complete in the transition to the knowledge economy, has in recent years begun to show interest in integrating innovative technologies into its field of work. The ensuing Covid-19 crisis accelerated this process and further strengthened the need for well-trained personnel to work successfully in the field of heritage and technology. Therefore, in the context of EU policies, the Culture Experiences Through Digital Environment Using project focuses on addressing common challenges such as digital penetration and ways to foster innovation in the cultural sector by actively involving young people and providing opportunities for training/learning and professional development. The objectives of the Cultural Experience through the Digital Environment were fully in line with the main and specific priorities of the Erasmus + program, namely to improve the level of key competencies and skills of young people, including those with fewer opportunities, and to promote their participation in the democratic life of Europe and intercultural dialogue, the validation and preservation of cultural heritage and, last but not least, the promotion of the inclusion of young people in the labor market. The project focused on the needs of the target group (young people aged 17-29) for attractive educational content and digital resources with free access. As well as the need for shared space to express knowledge and skills. The implementation of the Culture.EDU project has created just such a space for cooperation between young people and professionals, in order to integrate new technologies as a tool for non-formal education, with a focus on disseminating knowledge about culture, heritage and pan-European values. Objectives The main objective: Creating a Youth Portal - a space for collaboration between young people with an interest in culture and new technologies. An innovative product for non-formal education with a focus on raising awareness and knowledge of culture, heritage and pan-European values. Specific objectives: - Providing opportunities for collaboration between different organizations and exchange of good practices and innovations; - Creating space and opportunity for young people and experts with diverse interests and competencies to work together as a new open approach to actively involve young people in Europe's democratic life and intercultural dialogue, as well as their social inclusion and including in the labor market; - Developing digital skills; - Increasing the level of the interest in the culture, heritage and pan-European values; - Learning and learning through active involvement in the digital content creation process; - Mediating between the youth and the labor market, on the one hand, and on the other, creating the opportunity for the subsequent application of the intellectual product in different fields of education, management and presentation of heritage and tourism. Implementation Through transnational cooperation, the project supports intercultural dialogue, carrying out transnational activities to exchange good practices and ideas to reflect on cultural diversity and promote youth activity in the area, improving not only the awareness and knowledge but also the digital skills of the participants. The Culture.EDU project created a youth portal - a virtual space built on the basis of real-world research and collaboration of young people and experts with different interests, but with a common purpose - an opportunity to present ideas and competencies of the youth. In order to promote intercultural dialogue and support youth activism and involvement with heritage issues, the project realized short-term mobility - including the observation of cultural monuments on the territory of Bulgaria and Italy. The information collected was used to present the heritage and share ideas for socializing it. The multiplication events implemented in Bulgaria and Italy presented to the general public the project results and the ideas of young people in relation to improving the socialization and promotion of cultural heritage in the targeted regions.
