Summary

Background The project has aimed to enable the exchange of best practices and improve the quality of youth work as a way to support the employment of vulnerable people trough access to training in digital skills. We applied because of the great needs for migrants and refugees to find new ways into the european labour market. This connecting to the IT-sector which has a shortage of labour. With the ambition to learn, collaborate between partners and establish free codeing schools in Spain and Sweden. The two main needs that were adressed in and trough out the project has been: - the demand for digital skills in the EU labour market and - the need for vulnerable groups (migrants/refugees and others) to have equal access to opportunities in education and employment. The goal of this project has been to enable the exchange of experience and knowledge, while also collaboratively work on new project ideas between the represented NGO:s, and with this strengthening the whole Migracode network. Objectives The objectives of the project has been: - To promote quality youth work as a way to support vulnerable people to regain their self-efficacy, and enforce its practices in order to serve more beneficiaries - To better understand the needs of refugees and align IT innovative educational programs upon them, in order to develop their skills and indeed help them into the labour market - To standardize and automate the graduation rate and recruitment process of students, creating a strategy to bring companies closer to students - To implement non-formal education practices, by teaching both hard and soft skills - To strengthen the community and network of the organizations of the consortium, by engaging stakeholders, such as companies, foundation, local authorities and European Partners -To create 2 new codeing schools, one in Spain and one in Sweden Implementation Planning meetings online, M1 kick off in Sweden, C1 LTTA in Greece, M2 in Cyprus, C2 LTTA in Norway, C3 LTTA in Spain, and finishing off with M3 in Poland. - Migracode open-source educational materials have been evaluated based on the market needs research. - the partners have started working on improving the contents of their courses for vulnerable groups to better adjust to market needs and increase the target group's chances of getting employed; - IT-market research analysis was made in order to adjust existing coding courses and increase the employability chances of the target group including - Framtidståget (Sweden) has launched a pilot Web Development course for asylum-seekers that has been attended by more then 80 people and a pilot programming course was launched that has been attended by more then 70 asylum-seekers; - Ticket2Europe (Spain) has launched a pilot coding course for unemployed youth living in the rural area in Spain that is currently attended by 12 young people and a digital skills course for unemployed women living in the rural area. Being inspired by the project, they have also launched a Mentorship and project development course in their community. Achievements The most concrete results are the established and ongoing courses in webdevelopment in the new codeing schools in Sweden and Spain. In our organization in Sweden the Webdevelopment course is now a integrated part off our courses provided to asulym seekers for free. The spanish organization Ticket2Europes course, Rural Hackers- evolved into its own movement and is now a newly established NGO on its own with the same name as the code school within the project. The partnerships made within the projects has also had strong output on further projects. Our partner organization in north Morocco has recieved many members and participants from the Ticket2europe organization. More then 15 persons has been further involved in other Key action 1 that we have implemented, which has been leading to new projects growing in collaboration. The twinhubs creativeflip within the Creative hubs network in Europe has been connecting our organisation and our moroccan partner with more organizations and members within this network. In different ways the projects has empowered local communities with low digital access and entities with digital tools and solutions Building an international network of mentors, sponsors, and collaborators
