MOMentum. Helping mothers gain MOMentum in entrepreneurship

The partner organisations applied for this project motivated by the imperative to address pressing issues surrounding women's economic empowerment and entrepreneurship. Recognizing the stark gender disparities revealed by Eurostat and the 'Womenโs Economic Empowerment' report, the partners aimed to contribute to the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Entrepreneurship 2020 plan. The project outputs were driven by the desire to alleviate the persistent challenges faced by women, particularly mothers, in accessing economic resources and establishing businesses. The partners sought to tackle misconceptions about mothers in the workplace, especially those facing additional disadvantages such as single mothers, migrants, and those with social needs. Furthermore, their interest extended to exploring the emerging 'mompreneurship' movement. Ultimately, the project partners collectively applied for this project with the aspiration to contribute substantively to addressing the gender disparities and challenges faced by women, particularly mothers, in their pursuit of economic empowerment and entrepreneurship.

The partner organisations aimed to achieve comprehensive empowerment for mothers, particularly those facing disadvantages. They sought to promote entrepreneurship education, providing valuable insights and skills. Through role-model education, the organization inspired mothers to overcome fears and venture into entrepreneurship. A key objective was dismantling stereotypes about motherhood mixed with business and entrepreneurship, especially for migrants, single mothers, and those with social needs. The project efforts were directed at enhancing key skills and competences among mothers, equipping them for successful entrepreneurial pursuits. The overarching goal was to promote economic, social, and gender equality. The partners aspired to create an inclusive environment where mothers, irrespective of their background, could thrive in entrepreneurship, contributing to a more equitable and empowered society.
