Eltern für die Inklusion - Parents for inclusion - Szülök az inklúzióért - Padres por la inclusión

The EPSPI project combines two key concerns in an innovative way: it addresses both early childhood development and ensuring the educational success of children from migrant, socially and ethically marginalized groups. Our approach aims to develop concepts to reach parents with social disadvantages and actively involve them in social work. Based on the diverse experiences of the project partners, the EPSPI project was launched to develop a common empowerment methodology for socio-educational work. The aim is to promote early childhood development, social participation and the strengthening of self-organization, whereby we are guided by the emancipatory-participatory pedagogy of Paulo Freire, which is important for the leading organization AEF. In addition, the project aims to give the institutions themselves and later outsiders an insight into the different situations in the EU countries and to test whether the different working methods can be used successfully in settings through an exchange of best practice.

The partner organizations strive to set a positive example that will have a signal effect for other organizations, EU policy and all other democratic self-organizations of migrants and other socially disadvantaged groups. Another expected outcome is the exchange of experiences and best practices. The organizations in the participating countries should expand their range of work (know-how transfer). Migrant and Roma parents should become active themselves and organize themselves in terms of democratic participation and inclusion. The most visible result should be a multilingual handbook that presents different ways of working and encourages people to follow the positive example in the interest of the educational success of migrant and Roma children.

The operational implementation of the project began with a joint Zoom meeting of all partners in March 2022, where the aim of developing the various modules was discussed and work was carried out on researching and producing these modules over the following months. The TPM with the kick-off took place in August at the leading institution AEF in Bonn. The tasks and objectives of the project were discussed even more clearly. The exact procedure and many questions were clarified. All partners were present, and the other TPMs and several tests were scheduled together. The partner institutions were also able to get to know each other better and share their experiences and ideas that fit in with the project. Overall, it was very enriching to get to know the circumstances and working methods of the different EU countries. From this point onwards, there was a Gantt plan that all partners successfully followed during the project. The plan had the following dates following the kick-off meeting November 2022: TPM (6) in Valladolid at Red Incola with a presentation of the German modules. The concrete outputs consist of 6 modules, which were brought together in a manual. 1) Manual with the following modules: Module 1 Generative topic identification in parental work (Germany) Module 2 Self-organization of parents as the key to success (Germany) Module 3 Empowering parents to use play as a tool to support education and integration (Hungary) Module 4 Parent Empowerment: Towards greater school success through cultural awareness (Italy) Module 5 Mothers for inclusion - voice and action (Spain 1) Module 6 Promoting family inclusion through the work of parents (Spain 2) The handbook is available in English, Spanish, German, Hungarian and Italian. It deals with the situation of migrant families in the partner countries, suggested methods and activities for the modules as well as the implementation and exchange of good practices. 2) The handbook includes a toolbox with materials in different languages. 3) Several videos were produced as part of the project.
