Green Angels: Validierung eines ökologischen und nachhaltigen Lernwegs für Migranten zur Gründung von Sozial- und Gemeinschaftsunternehmen
▶Summary
The consortium applied for the Green Angels project due to the critical need for upskilling and empowering adult migrants in Europe. Eurostat data (2017) reveals 35.4% of non-EU migrants have limited education, hindering employment opportunities. COVID-19 worsened this, with unemployment rates among migrants (e.g., 25% in Spain). This project directly addresses the following needs by providing unemployed migrants with: a) Basic & Transversal Skills: Foundational knowledge and adaptability for the changing job market. b) Entrepreneurial Skills: Equipping them with the tools to pursue self-employment opportunities. c) High-Quality Learning: Leveraging e-learning and Media Technology 2.0 for accessible and engaging education. By addressing these skill gaps and fostering entrepreneurship, Green Angels empowers migrants towards employability and social inclusion, aligning with the EU's political agenda and the 2020 Agenda for adult learning.
▶Objectives
The GA project aimed to achieve two key objectives: 1) Empowering Migrants for Employability: a) Equip migrants with core entrepreneurial competences to establish their enterprises, b) Provide training in basic skills for adaptability in the growing job market, c) Support their entry into the labor market 2) Promotion Green Social Entrepreneurship: a) Promote the development of sustainable, eco-friendly business practices among migrant entrepreneurs, b) Align with the European Green Deal, focusing on responsible material usage, waste management, and recycling, c) Address the social needs of local communities through impactful green businesses. By these objectives, GA aimed to enhance the employability of migrants while promoting sustainable and inclusive entrepreneurship in the EU.
▶Activities
The Green Angels project implemented a comprehensive set of activities to empower migrant entrepreneurs and promote sustainable practices: 1. Skill Identification & Curriculum Development: Identified essential soft, core, and green skills in five key areas: Home care, People & Pets care, Landscaping, self-employment and eco-citizenship. Developed a training program in English and partner languages, incorporating sustainability knowledge to guide participants towards "Green Angel" business practices. 2. Interactive Web Portal (GREEN ANGELS): Established a multilingual portal for learning and service promotion, housing curriculum materials and resources. Provided a "GREEN ANGELS Interactive Portal" connecting entrepreneurs with potential clients. 3. Training Delivery & Testing: Conducted a 3-day training activity for project staff, evaluated and documented. Piloted the training program in Italy, Germany, France, Spain, and Poland, gathering feedback through questionnaires and compiling a comprehensive report. 4. Project Management & Dissemination: Developed a project website, logo, and informative brochures. Implemented a comprehensive dissemination strategy through partner websites, articles, press releases, and local meetings. 5. Ongoing Monitoring & Evaluation: Implemented a strong monitoring and evaluation plan, with regular reports prepared by the Polish partners. Conducted stakeholder meetings every six months to ensure project alignment and gather feedback. 6. Transnational Collaboration: Each partner hosted a transnational meeting, collaboratively setting agendas, selecting activities, and ensuring cost-effectiveness. Adapted meetings to online platforms (Webex): Montly coordination meetings.
▶Impact
The Green Angels project produced significant outputs and outcomes aimed at empowering migrant entrepreneurs and fostering sustainable practices: 1. GREEN ANGELS Educational Pathway: •Sustainable Entrepreneurship Module: A practical learning program developed for aspiring and supporting green entrepreneurs, guiding them through business startup and incorporating sustainability principles. •GREEN ANGELS Guidelines: This guide assists in analyzing learners' profiles and skills, enabling personalized learning pathways. It identifies basic skills needed for various specializations (e.g. gardening, homecare, peoples care). •Pathway Testing & Reporting: The program was piloted in each partner country, with feedback from participants and trainers incorporated into a comprehensive final report. This report details the testing process, results, improvements suggested, and the impact on organizations, staff, and stakeholders. •Ensuring relevance and quality for the target group, the consortium guaranteed alignment with specific needs and requirements by collaborating with end users, experts and relevant institutions. 2. Interactive GREEN ANGELS Web Portal: •Knowledge Hub: This open-access e-learning platform includes all training materials from the GREEN ANGELS pathway, promoting flexible and remote learning opportunities. •Interactive web portal: A dedicated interactive service portal connects users with registered entrepreneurs offering green services, facilitating business promotion and reach out to their clients. __________________________________________________________________ IMPORTANT!!!
