Open the window of digital world

Our school was looking for a project with European partners to provide a window on different cultures, mentalities and languages, combined with the skill that fascinates so many children and teens in these days - the art of photography. The needs were to enable students to make contact and engage with peers from others regions in a joint project with a shared interest.

Our aims were to provide opportunities for educational, linguistic, personal and interpersonal development: - to enhance their motivation for studying and to increase their everyday enthusiasm for self-development - to improve their functional, practical skills by means of photography - to improve their intercultural awareness and raise their sense of self-identity - to achieve 21st-century European values - to improve their linguistic as well as their digital skills - to enhance socialization, communication and interpersonal skills - to facilitate creativity, imagination, aesthetic sense of beauty

We implemented three exchange visits and two online workshop meetings. The workshops supported and prepared the development of photography skills, the exchange visits provided intercultural, personal and linguistic learning opportunities and a context for trying out the photography and digital skills acquired.

The outputs were presentations disseminated within each school and on each school's social media platforms, as well as dissemination of the activities within the school through presentations for the peers. The results have also been invaluable personal experiences and contacts made by the students during the visits. The experience of the different locations, different types of school settings, host families etc. made a great impression on all participants. For the teachers, both the preparation and the actual activities provided an opportunity for professional cooperation and exchange and insight into the work and work settings of the colleagues in the other countries and schools.
