"Distance Learning Gateway"
▶Summary
Our world has been hit by coronavirus pandemic for more than a year. Because of this pandemic, many things have changed in our lives. Sometimes we are under lockdown and as teachers we have to arrange our lessons online. As we are used to having most of our lessons face to face, we have difficulty in having our lessons online. This situation makes it difficult for both teachers and students. As teachers, we must use different methods and digital tools so as to make the lessons clear and understandable and increase the students' attention and motivation. On the other hand, the students should also adapt to this transformation and use digital technology in a positive way. At the beginning of the academic year, we held general management and teachers' meeting, during which school needs and students’ situations have been carefully examined. Many teachers, especially language teachers, expressed that both teachers' and students' digital skills should be developed and the school project team agreed that a project about developing ıct skills is in need.
