Objectives

Our project has two main aims. Firstly, we would like to strengthen youth participation, involvement and engagement in policy-making. We would like to improve access to inclusive and equitable quality education for everyone. Secondly, we would like to make a crucial contribution in the fight against the climate crisis In our project, we would like to show how everyone can help in one way or another to protect the environment and to reduce the impacts of the climate change in different areas of life. The main objective of our project is to contribute to a greener and more sustainable Europe. We have sought inspiration in the UN’s 17 goals for sustainable development. Another aim is to provide opportunities for learning, active citizenship and democratic participation to a wide range of young people with diverse national, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. A further objective is to facilitate an exchange between the three countries involved in the project so that both the partner organisations and the YP participating in the workshops can learn from one another and benefit from working together.

Activities

We will offer four workshops in each country in schools or as after school-activities related to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Decisions made by consumers, businesses and politicians in the global North can have consequences for the environment and climate in the global South and we will aim to thematise this in the workshops. Each organisation will provide one youth conference with the aim to write "manifestos for sustainable development" and to present them decision-makers.

Impact

Our primary objective was to contribute to a greener and more sustainable future for the EU as a whole. Through engaging with YP, we provided them with the opportunity to make an immediate contribution to achieving the UN’s sustainable development goals, to combatting climate change and to making their countries and the EU as a whole more environmentally friendly. YP in three different European countries had the chance to exchange experiences and ideas and to learn from one another.
