▶Objectives
A model was developed for mobilizing and mentoring marginalized youths and communities to work with the SDGs. This increases the chances of reaching agenda 2030 by creating possible conditions for involving all, and "leaving no one behind" - no matter the resource base or background.
▶Activities
1. An analysis was conducted into local narratives of sustainability and the SDGs in marginalized communities, examining how these related or compared with the mainstream SDGs agenda 2030. 2. 16 youths were recruited as SDGs ambassadors in their communities, and a training, mentoring, and tools development process was developed and run with them on how to work with the SDGs and localize them in their context. 3. Community activities and youth actions around the SDGs and components of the project were implemented.
▶Impact
1. 16 youth SDGs ambassadors were mobilized and empowered and were championing actions in local communities. 2. An analytical report of local vs. mainstream narratives on the SDGs and sustainability was compiled to bridge the gaps. 3. 2 local actions based on SDGs were implemented across the two countries. 4. A mentoring program was tested and adjusted for empowering marginalized youth to act around the SDGs. 5. A methodology for mobilizing marginalized youths and communities to action was developed.
