Summary

Rapid technological evolution and the new digital transformation are creating a gap between labor market demand and supply, which is progressively widening with the need for new professional profiles emerging in the current "4th industrial revolution." This fact was confirmed by all members of the project partnership. This context and need, evident and proven in four EU countries (Austria, Spain, Italy, and Belgium), requires promoting mechanisms for continuous curriculum updating through new agile and flexible learning models and exploring other "on-demand training" approaches that combine different levels of expert qualifications of a hybrid nature (vocational training + university + business). There are also barriers to access to technical training for people with disabilities, which makes it advisable to promote the design of flexible and accessible training tools.

Objectives

The overall objective of the MULTILEVEL HYBRID LEARNING proposal is to support individuals in acquiring and developing basic skills and key competences in line with the Recommendation of the European Parliament and of the Council to "boost employability in new specialties, skills and professional profiles associated with the profound and rapid transformation of the labor market and with a forward-looking vision in fields that are strategic for smart economic and social development." The specific objectives of the project are: 1. To test and validate a new agile and flexible learning model focused on covering professional specialization demands not covered by the formal vocational training curriculum. 2. To introduce a new approach to specialized qualifications that combines vocational training + university (18-36 ECTS) + business to respond to new emerging professional profiles with growing demand. 3. Develop and validate, based on the model, multi-level expert content with a university-specific degree (18-36 ECTS) specializing in subjects not covered by current vocational training curricula, designed and taught in collaboration with the company.

Activities

The activities implemented during development were: - Knowledge building: design of a guide and three expert courses. - Development of an international pilot demonstration project. - Evaluation, quality control, and validation of results in four languages.

Impact

RESULTS: 47 teachers trained (methodology and guide) 58 women trained in STEM areas (professional inter-qualification). 220 participants in expert courses (intellectual outputs). 6 direct jobs created and more than 60 participants expressed their professional advancement. Methodology and four results validated at international scale: -Methodological guide (New hybrid and multi-level qualification model). -Expert course in Big Data and Energy Efficiency in Buildings and Industries -Expert course in Cibersecurity and Blockchain -Expert course in Innovation Management, Internet of Things and Robotics
