โ–ถSummary

The consortium decided to apply for this project to address the general lack of motivation to study mathematics that the partners have identified in children as early as primary school. As a result, more than 20% of young Europeans do not reach a minimum level of basic maths skills, making it difficult for them to pursue a scientific or technical career that offers more professional opportunities. The school years are considered the most critical period of education, when students create learning mechanisms, build knowledge and develop basic skills and learning methods. For this reason, the partners decided to tackle this issue at school level and apply for the school education project. The needs that have been addressed are: โ— Lack of motivation among pupils to learn maths. Children perceive this subject as difficult and detached from everyday life, which causes particular difficulties in understanding. This requires a less passive and more participative learning experience. โ— Gap in the student achievement: Maths is the area with the lowest student achievement and therefore requires special attention and initiatives. โ— Need to modernise the study of mathematics to make it more attractive and purposeful to students through STEAM

โ–ถObjectives

The main objective of this project was raising the profile of mathematics teachers and equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to be able to motivate the students to improve academic performance through targeted initiatives and focused actions to address low student achievement in this subject area. The specific objectives were: โ— O1. Transform the learning experience from passive to participative, engaging students actively in the educational process. โ— O2. Democratize the learning process by involving students in choosing their preferred learning methods, influencing teaching activities, and contributing to the revision of the mathematics curriculum. โ— O3. Explore and emphasize the relevance of mathematics in the STEAM context involving other subject teachers. โ— O4. Ensure inclusive education by developing specific components to support students from vulnerable groups, including those with mild intellectual disabilities like dyscalculia and mathematical anxiety. โ— O5. Implement peer-assisted learning as an innovative approach, fostering teamwork and increasing motivation. โ— O6. Promote the use of ICT in the educational process, offering a virtual learning environment through the e-platform to enhance the effectivene

โ–ถActivities

During the implementation phase of the project we have developed the following activities: COORDINATION: internal communication between partners and internal communication with the NA, organisation of meetings, administration, conflict and risk management. DISSEMINATION AND IMPACT: development of the project website, development and distribution of promotional material, organisation of dissemination events, active use of social media, impact assessment, recording of dissemination activities. QUALITY CONTROL: Conducting regular internal evaluations to review compliance with project objectives, quality of results and overall progress. Implementation of corrective and preventive measures. Preparation of periodic quality reports. MATERIALS DEVELOPMENT: field research with surveys, collection of good practices, elaboration of the methodology E= MD ^2, development of the materials for the online course, internal and external evaluation of all materials (piloting). EXPLOITATION AND SUSTAINABILITY: integration of the project results in the schools' curriculum, alliances and collaborations to continue the work started in the project and guarantee its continuity and expansion.

COLLECTION OF 12 LESSON PLANS ready to be used by teachers about how to deliver inclusive classes with STEAM 7. GUIDELINES ON HOW TO IMPLEMENT E-DEBATE IN THE CLASSROOM 8. ONLINE TRAINING COURSE FOR TEACHERS on for using the E=MD^2 method, as a new method for increasing the motivation. 12 modules with a theoretical part, a CANVA presentation and a video (EN) 9. 4-day TRAIN THE TRAINERS in Croatia to present the E=MD^2 method 10. E-BOOKLET that collects the training structure in all the languages 11. CURRICULUM to deliver the E=MD^2 method in the future.
