a tEenage MOThEr

We decided to apply for this project because the project addressed the problems faced by teenage girls who became pregnant and gave birth to children. Entering responsible social roles - motherhood - much earlier than their peers, they had to begin to fulfill the tasks set aside for mature adult women. Teenage mothers were at risk of social exclusion for several reasons: -Lack of education and professional qualifications -(usually) single motherhood -(Often) Lack of support in the family of origin -Lack of system tools aimed at working with teenage girls in labor kids -Emotional immaturity, difficulties in social functioning (including immaturity to act as a parent). -Stigmatization of teenage mothers. The problem area of the project was little discussed, and there was no elaboration or description in this respect of methods and tools of work that could support youth workers in their activities dedicated to teenage mothers. The group affected by the project was treated as marginal (the phenomenon of teenage pregnancies concerned up to several thousand girls in individual EU countries), hence the lack of standards and tools for working with them; usually, teenage mothers were within national systems treated in the same way.

The project aimed to support minor mothers in the proper functioning (both in the role of mother and mother) in other social roles - citizens, employees) and prevent their exclusion by creating a modern, comprehensive approach that met both their needs and enabled their development (social, educational, and personal). The implemented measure was also aimed at preventing their discrimination (on the grounds of sex, young age, early motherhood) and violence (loneliness, willingness to settle quickly situations and easy entering into relationships, lack of defense mechanisms, own experiences prone to risky behavior). Promoting good work with young people - the project provided staff with support minor mothers had new tools to work while improving the quality of the existing offer, supporting the social inclusion of the target group (including its educational development and professional); the project enabled the creation and promotion of efficient and modern working methods tailored to the needs and capabilities of recipients.

According to the scheduled plan of the project, the consortium had been working on the development of: - PR1. Workshop scenario in the field of social competences A1: Scenario methodology +Sending the scenarios to the coordinating organization, discussion applying changes. The following scenarious were developed: 1. Growing up: HICD_NL - Growing from a teenage mother to an adult person - The problems and challenges in transition from teenagerhood to adulthood while being a mother 2. Parental competences: INSTITUT MARIBOR_SI & ASPIRA_Si - Stages of child development - First aid training - Child discipline - Self-care 3. Labour market and education: VAEV - How to achieve a better work-education balance - Better time management - Using online tools for job searching or creating your own job opportunities 4. ICT skills: INFINITY_GR - Job searching platforms - Time management - Online safety - Alternative means of education 5. Motivation: GESEME - Trainings on stress management - Problem-solving - Overcoming crises and critical situations - Healthy lifestyle 6. Relations: STANDO_CY - How to handle the relationships around you – at school, at a societal level, partnership relations, family - How to overcome prejudice A2. Conduct workshops with teenage mothers who make it possible to check the usefulness of the developed tools and forms of work+ Evaluation The workshops were implemented in each country, having as participants teenage parents and specialists working with them. When modifications of the scenarios were needed after receiving the feedback from the participants, those were applied and upload in the drive folder the final version of the script. A3. Preparing the final version of the script in English VAEV_AT compiled the final version of the scripts into one document and send it to the partners. A4. Translation into national languages, placing on the website of the organization, blogs The translation into national languages was done and we disseminated the materials online. PR2. Interactive handbook for human resources working with underage mothers HICD NL prepared a methodology for this activity, with tasks and dead-lines for every partner, and was shared with the partners. All partner contribuited and done their tasks. We had several brain-storming sessions between all the psychologists, therapists and specialists from the partnership in order to establish the focus of the activity in the best way possible for the target group. The interactive handbook, after having the final version in English, was translated into every partner's language. PR3. Blogs for underage mothers Although the NA evaluation decided this project result not to be funded, the partnership implemented the activities, with their own funds, because they considered the result to be useful. For this, a draft methodology was created by STANDO_CY, and shared with the partners and different blog articles were developed by the partners and then translated. 1. PR 1. Created a scenario of workshops in the field of social competences focused on the development of a specific, selected group of recipients - teenage mothers. The workshop scenario covered the following topics: - growing up - parental competences – labor market and education - motivation – relations. All issues were placed in the context of the situation in which the girls found themselves - early parenthood, the need to reconcile the roles of a student and a mother, a child and an adult. The scenarios were based on the methods of non-formal education, and their recipients were involved in activities at every stage of the workshop work, which stimulated them to reflect, creative thinking, verification of their actions, and supporting in making such activities that triggered their development. 2. PR2. Interactive handbook for human resources working with underage mothers. The handbook for human resources working with minor mothers was a development-oriented publication methods and tools of work aimed at a specific group of young girls who are mothers. At the same time, the publication enabled the personal development of the staff, affected their reflection and appropriate involvement in working with teenage mothers, including a subjective approach to them. The publication was interactive, which included the possibility of adding Users' own content (after prior verification by the administrator) and attaching them for publication. 3. PR3. Blogs for underage mothers. There were no blogs dedicated to underage mothers in the Internet resources that were edited and created in cooperation with specialists and interested parties; also missing specialized information (isolated on websites, tabs, etc.), which would contain information and support tools for minor mothers. 4.
