Europe poétique ; un projet où la poésie est vectrice d’éducation à l’environnement, d'éducation aux médias, à l’information et à la citoyenneté européenne.

MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY IN PRIMARY The very rapid evolution of our media environment requires the development of media and information literacy. Primary school helps lay the first milestones for this learning, and more primary education teachers want to integrate it into their teaching. Our proposal accompanies them in the development of these key skills. EXPERTISE TO DISSEMINATE IN EUROPE In France, ICT (Information and Communication Technology) literacy is included in the “law of refoundation of the school” and prepares the younger generation for the challenges of our digital universe. There has also been the “Center for Media and Information Education” (CLEMI) since the 1980s. Expertise in this area has developed. This is also the case in Belgium, but not in other European countries such as Romania, although the needs are identical. POETRY TO RAISING AWARENESS OF ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES The second pillar of the project is raising awareness among our beneficiaries of environmental issues and the fight against global warming. We use poetry, and that of the Belgian poet Maurice CARÊME who uses the theme of nature in his poetry.

THREE COHERENT WORK AREAS Poetry, environmental and media education are part of the curriculum in primary school. Our project links these three areas. The activities around poetry are designed so that students, but also their families, change their behavior, consumption habits and lifestyle. CO-CONSTRUCTION To develop new educational practices in ICT literacy, we encourage cooperation between teachers and journalists, actors from professional universes who are not used to collaborating with each other. Co-construction leads to actions where everyone acts according to their skills, their missions, their practices. Teachers do not become journalists. Reporters do not improvise themselves as educators. FEEL EUROPEAN The partner establishments all plan to open classes to Europe. This is an objective of the European school. Rue de Littré, in Paris, the school has been involved for several years in the implementation of artistic and scientific projects with various cultural structures. In Romania, it is an opportunity in the context of learning French as a foreign language, to be in contact with the French-speaking world.

MEETINGS The students met the partner journalists of their establishment. By asking them questions, they discovered the job of journalist and the issues of the production of media. They also, indirectly, met the poet Maurice CARÊME. They questioned the director of the Maurice CARÊME foundation about the life and work of the poet. THE CO-DRAWING OF REPORTS The dialogue with journalists continued with the co-production of reports/interviews to understand concretely how quality information is produced. The classes benefited from the advice of professional journalists to develop questionnaires, then carry out media productions. POETRY WORKSHOPS After discovering the poetry of Maurice CARÊME, the classes visited the house of the poet Maurice CARÊME and benefited from workshops organized by the Foundation which led to numerous poetic productions on nature written by the pupils. TWO MOBILITIES - A mobility brought together all the adult participants in Brussels in March 2022. - “Student” mobility allowed 49 young Parisians to meet students from the European School and visit Brussels.

PURCHASE OF MATERIAL The management costs item allowed the classes to equip themselves with materials and tools that were used during the project and will be used later in other educational activities. CORPORATE REPORTS The different classes developed 14 questionnaires. The journalists took over by finding the best contact people to respond. THE POETIC RECITAL Pupils from France and Belgium performed a poetic recital at the European school. The recital was recorded and then broadcast on a YouTube channel for Timisoara students: https://youtu.be/I_jB7U0XKX8 THE POETRY CONTEST The "Nature in verse" competition brought together 226 pupils aged 8 to 10 from 7 schools. DISCOVERING BRUSSELS The Parisian pupils benefited from a 3-day mobility in Brussels.
