Special students deserve special teaching methods

"We applied for this project to address several critical needs identified within our educational community: Diversity of learning styles: We have observed that traditional teaching strategies do not effectively meet the diverse learning styles of students. This project gives us the opportunity to identify these styles and adapt our teaching methods to better serve each student. Enhancement of language and communication skills: In an increasingly globalized world, it is essential that our students develop strong language and communication skills. This project will promote these skills through intercultural exchanges and collaborative activities. Development of creativity and critical thinking: Current global challenges require the ability to think creatively and critically. The project aims to cultivate these skills, which are essential for the success of students in their future professional and civic lives. Continuous improvement of teachers: The professional development of teachers is a key element in improving student learning outcomes."

In implementing the project, we aimed to achieve the following objectives: Identification and adaptation to learning styles: We wanted to recognize the different learning styles of our students (visual, auditory, verbal, social, and physical) to better tailor our teaching methods to their specific needs. Improvement of key skills: The project aimed to develop the linguistic, communication, interpersonal, and ICT skills of students, as well as their creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Professional development of teachers: We sought to promote and achieve significant professional development for participating teachers, giving them the opportunity to become familiar with other educational systems, exchange ideas, and best practices. Creation of educational materials: The goal was to produce and gather educational resources and materials that could be used to establish a summer camp program for students with academic difficulties. Strengthening European cooperation

The activities implemented within the project included: LTTA1 (Learning/Teaching/Training Activities): Activities focused on the visual learning style, including games and teaching methods specifically designed for visual learners, focused on teaching sciences in France. LTTA2: Activities focusing on the auditory learning style, with games and activities for auditory learners, related to mathematics teaching and conducted virtually by Slovakia. LTTA3: Activities centered on the verbal learning style for teaching English in Slovakia. LTTA4: Activities aimed at the physical learning style, regarding the teaching of geography, carried out by Turkey.

Educational Materials: Development and sharing of workshop materials, lesson plans, and worksheets tailored to different learning styles. Presentations: Presentations of partner schools and the educational systems involved, allowing for an exchange of best practices and mutual understanding of educational contexts. Cultural and Linguistic Skills: Improvement of students' cultural knowledge and language skills through online workshops and direct interactions with peers from different countries. Evaluation and Feedback: Implementation of evaluation instruments such as satisfaction questionnaires. Certification of Attendance: Issuance of certificates for participation. Assessment System: Application of questionnaires to identify learning styles. Intercultural Awareness: Participants have developed increased intercultural awareness. Due to circumstances (COVID), we will have to create a draft guidance for a summer camp program for students needing additional support, ensuring the sustainability of the project's results.
