la génération Z rurale pour une Europe plus verte ! Vélo et Rando, découverte et partage de mon territoire avec les amis d'Europe

I applied for this project to set up a partnership between three European schools, one urban and one rural, to share experiences around children's school and family life, and we came through. Our needs were met in all five areas of work: - exchanging information on children's daily activities in their families, at school and in the environment we cycled through; - developing European citizenship by comparing our ways of life, getting to know each other and creating bonds of friendship; - familiarizing ourselves with audiovisual, paper and digital media, to communicate at a distance and get closer to European friends; - using the English language to exchange; - developing a partnership between teachers to improve teaching practices.

As citizens of a territory, the children cycled through their territory to combat climate change, presented their living environment, and communicated in English via digital technology to get closer to other children in the European territory. The children's activities contributed to a coherent approach to teaching and languages. The themes linked to partnerships between schools directly encouraged the children's commitment, cooperation and empowerment. The program of actions was in line with the European strategy for rural youth: working on citizenship and the democratic spirit. The exchange project between rural and urban schoolchildren was a focal point of the concept of "Children as actors". Teachers from both countries strengthened their language teaching skills through their exchanges and shared their work.

-In CM1, we worked on sustainable development and the environment, with regular bike outings around the school to explore our rural environment (farm, waste collection center, tour of the Luberon by bike, discovery of historical heritage), and in CM2, work with the Parc du Luberon to raise awareness of climate change - English learning methods were compared between the two countries, during two visits by French teachers to Romania - The school was able to invest in digital equipment to improve exchanges via videoconferencing, use of tablets to accompany English lessons, podcast recordings, and access to an ENT site. The mobility of Romanian teachers in France helped to prepare for the arrival of Romanian children in France. In the end, 18 Romanian pupils were hosted by French families, and face-to-face exchanges with our friends from Europe strengthened the bonds of friendship; everyone got together and shared civic and educational activities to conclude two years of correspondence.

Each child has invested a great deal of effort in getting to know his or her environment and that of the other European country. Long-distance exchanges have been regular, about once a month, and have shown an improvement in communication and a better mastery of digital communication tools. The introduction of programming in language learning in France, with the help of the educational advisor, has contributed to the evolution of practices and developed a spirit of innovation. A website traces all the progress and activities carried out over two years, and a padlet: "le journal du changement" . French teachers will improve their oral English to be more at ease with their pupils.
