Histoires de transitions en Europe La coopération au service de la transition écologique dans les quartiers prioritaires

Le projet met à disposition de collectivités, acteurs et habitants des quartiers prioritaires, un rapport d’étude « Recherche sur les multiples dimensions des conditions de la transition écologique dans les trois quartiers prioritaires” et un guide méthodologique intitulé « La mise en récits. Un outil pour la transition écologique dans les quartiers prioritaires ». Les deux livrables sont disponibles en anglais et en 4 langues de partenaires et sont accompagnés par deux présentations vidéo illustrant les étapes du processus.  Le site web https://www.ecotransition-stories.eu/ partage notre expérience et les réalisations. Les résultats sont issus d’un travail profondément ancré sur le terrain et réalisé par les personnes qui œuvrent chaque jour dans les quartiers. Grâce à cette démarche participative et au-delà de la méthodologie, le projet a créé et a renforcé la dynamique collective et transversale au cœur de quartiers et a impulsé de nouvelles actions, notamment l'initiative Volte-Face au Sanitas qui continue la mission initiée par ce partenariat. Le projet a permis aux participants de mieux s’emparer d’enjeux de transition socio-écologique et d'ouvrir des nouvelles pistes de travail.

The intention of the project, and the ultimate aim of this approach, was to contribute to the sustainable improvement of living conditions for vulnerable populations by equipping professional players in priority neighbourhoods. The partners chose to explore the narrative approach methodology for ecological transitions and develop it for the context of priority neighbourhoods. The aim was to offer a process that would enable project participants to take ownership of the narrative approach and develop their skills in dealing with socio-ecological issues. In implementing this project, the partners wanted to give impetus to new dynamics that would subsequently be carried forward by all the professional players in the areas involved. The structure of the project reflects the desire to use a narrative approach to raise awareness and create a "transition mindset" among adult educators. This wealth of experience, practices and tools developed is made available to other players involved in priority neighbourhoods in Europe. The design and sharing of these ressources is an invitation to tackle the complex subject of ecological transition together and in depth.

The four partners have been engaged in a collaborative process of tool development, adaptation and testing, which is structured into two main phases. The first is a study phase aimed at gaining a better understanding of the relationships that local residents have with the challenges of ecological transition. This multiple case study was developed in three areas corresponding to the definition of "priority neighbourhood" (Sanitas in Tours, Carozzone in Reggio Emilia and Lorqui). The second phase involved the construction of a methodological guide, taking into account the results of the previous study, based on the narrative approach and adapted to the dynamics of the priority neighbourhoods analysed in the research phase. Stakeholders from these neighbourhoods took part in the co-construction and evaluation of these tools. Two learning activities took place throughout the process to enable participants to discover and deepen their understanding of the narrative approach methodology. The local activities were organised on a monthly basis in the three areas and enabled the principles of the methodology to be adapted to the needs of the respective neighbourhoods and to co-design the project's final result.

The project provides local authorities, stakeholders and residents of priority neighbourhoods with a study report entitled "Research into the multiple dimensions of the conditions for ecological transition in the three priority neighbourhoods" and a methodological guide entitled "Narrative approach. A tool for ecological transition in priority neighbourhoods". The two results are available in English and in 4 partner languages and are accompanied by two video presentations illustrating the stages of the process. The results are the fruit of work that is deeply rooted in the field and carried out by the people who work in the neighbourhoods every day. Thanks to this participatory approach, and going beyond the methodology, the project has created and strengthened a collective, cross-disciplinary dynamic at the heart of the neighbourhoods, and has given impetus to new initiatives, notably the Volte-Face in Sanitas initiative, which continues the mission initiated by this partnership. The project has enabled participants to gain a better grasp of the issues involved in the socio-ecological transition and to open up new paths of work.
