The project had the following objectives: - To thoroughly select psychological, pedagogical and neuroscientífic data to make it comprehensive and applicable in schools by teachers, pedagogues untrained in the area (PR 1). - To equip teachers with the necessary tools and strategies to detect and solve problems caused by cultural diversity and social disparities and differences in children’s development and learning processes (PR 2 and 3). - To develop new methods that can be used for the detection of learning difficulties and implementation of solutions (PR 2). - To raise awareness of problems and difficulties that can occur in a classroom as a consequence of students diversity and the lack of training and resources of teachers to tackle them; - To promote action plans that are centered on processes of interaction in the classroom with an inclusive approach (PR 2 and 3). - To establish international and cross sectorial cooperation through knowledge transfer and exchange of good practices.

The “WE ARE COLOURFUL” project was initiated to address the complex realities in European schools, marked by students’ diverse cultural backgrounds, economic statuses, and social inequalities. The project aimed to fill the knowledge gap among educators regarding cognitive, social, and emotional development processes. It sought to tackle issues arising from neurodevelopmental disorders, learning styles, cultural diversity, and social inequality. The project provided resources and training to teachers, enabling them to manage diverse classrooms effectively and foster an inclusive environment. The goal was to turn diversity into an asset, promoting inclusion and integration in classrooms. The project has successfully addressed these needs, equipping educators with the necessary tools and strategies to detect and solve problems caused by cultural diversity and social disparities.

The “WE ARE COLOURFUL” project yielded key results: Tangible Outputs: 1. Online course for teachers (Result 1) 2. Toolkit for detecting learning difficulties (Result 2). 3. Videos and workshops promoting inclusivity (Result 3). Intangible Outcomes: 1. Raised awareness about diversity. 2. Teachers acquired necessary skills. 3. Fostered an inclusive environment in classrooms. These results have significantly contributed to addressing classroom challenges due to student diversity and lack of teacher resources, providing practical solutions and fostering an inclusive environment. The project has also strengthened cooperation between schools and other organisations working in non-formal education of children and school teachers. The project’s materials have been mainstreamed among other schools, raising awareness and appreciation of the challenges that can occur in a diverse classroom.
