▶Objectives
ADVOC-ACT: Enabling newcomers citizens of Europe for direct participation, was implemented by two refugee-led organizations in Italy and the Netherlands, to enhance good practices and new educational approaches for adult migrant & refugee inclusion. It aimed to strengthen migrants and refugees’ competences to deliver self advocacy, becoming agents of change and playing a catalyst role in their communities. Moreover we aimed to create inclusive (online) spaces for new narratives in migration debates.
▶Impact
With the implementation of ADVOC-ACT, we have the following output and results: -15 Europe based refugees and migrants empowered to advocate and lead policy and awareness raising activities on the importance of representation and meaningful participation of migrants and refugees in decision making processes -The 2 project partners have increased their capacity to coordinate educational training activities and inclusive learning spaces for refugee and migrants at transnational level -An increased understanding of tools and practices and co-creation methodologies empowering adult migrants and refugees committed in active social participation -An enabling approach to build a positive and empowering narrative about migration. The project has contributed to create and strengthen a network of migrant and refugee activists and advocates in Europe, enhanced their advocacy and leadership skills and supported the exchange of knowledge and good practices as well as sharing of resources and opportunities.
