Save a 'dying' craft industry and art form, which very much needs to be focused on. A craft and an art form that throughout all past times has given people good values. We hope that with this project musicians will in the future be able to play musical instruments produced according to the UN's sustainability goals - in short, that you can buy, repair, restore and tune instruments, built or repaired, restored or tuned by a musical instrument maker in your own country.

We carried out various trips and meetings and digital meetings with partners and associated partners, as well as industry professionals. On our partner tours, we met the most important folk instrument makers who are still alive. We visited the few schools that ran an industry-related collage within the musical instrument making industry. We visited those found by musical instrument makers within the 8 different professional groups. We visited the main symphony orchestras in each capital city, where they were explained the challenges of being able to repair, restore, tune and prepare instruments for concerts etc. We visited importers and some selected music stores. We also visited Europe's largest wholesaler for musical instruments in Germany. We visited the world's oldest school of musical instrument building in Markneukirchen. We visited the Chamber of Crafts for future cooperation for apprentice and master's degree education. We visited music museums related to musical instruments, as well as the European department of Yamaha. We organized the Nordics' first seminar, where the folk instrument makers met the classical instrument makers, and where all 8 instrument groups were presented.

We have gathered partners, instrument makers who did not know each other, from within Norway and the Nordic countries. We have also brought together folk instrument makers, together with classical instrument builders, repairers and tuners. We have found out what is available from instrument makers, and looked at what it's needed by musical instrument makers in the Nordics. Several of the subjects are on the way to extinction, within a 5-year period, for example, church organ building will be almost completely gone in the Nordic countries. The same applies to accordion and piano construction. And because of this situation when you have to be able to build in order to be able to repair, restore and vote at a professional level, today repairs are carried out outside the borders of the Nordics. So an instrument maker school must see the light of day during a 2-year period. And after our investigations and our travels, we see that Østfold will eventually be the place to establish such a university.
