Objectives

By Implementing the project, we wanted to develop and raise the international profile of the partnership institutions, improve the quality of work and competences of the staff of both institutions, support local senior groups and create a new educational offer for them. We also wanted to: strengthen the activities of partners in local environments; list senior education good practices; enrich educational offers for seniors by incorporating the project results into the regular activities, promote diversity, involve excluded old people in active ageing, learn their lifestyles, problems occurred in both countries; create opportunities for intergenerational and international cooperation between seniors and younger people. We wanted to activate at least 20 seniors in order to practice newly-acquired competences, working methods and ideas for classes concerning this pilot group. We wanted to use our existing human resources, the interests of seniors, the desire to both: meet together and find friends, people who would accept them despite their age, dysfunction, health problems and limitations. During the project implementation, we wanted to: improve the competences of10 trainers participate in monitoring visits, improve their English.

Impact

1 Gantt chart, 4 days of international training for staff (10 educators), 32 45-min. periods of training preceded by the preparation of the program and training materials-14 examples,11 lesson plans for 20 seniors in both countries, 6 days of local classes run with the use of activating teaching methods, 2 days of international online meetings for seniors were conducted,1 Catalogue of Good Practices in the multilingual editon, 1evaluation survey for seniors, 1 evaluation survey for staff, 1 project logo,2 subpages of the project on the partners' websites. Development and implementation of 20 promotional products prepared as part of the project (angels figurines, hand-painted pendants, painted mugs),2 working-monitoring visits, one to each country, 1 senior picnic to disseminate the results of the project, 1 EPA article,16 internal working meetings with both partners. Intangible results: increased staff knowledge and competences on working with seniors, openness to others and their limitations, e.g. health ones, being vigilant to the needs of older people, increasing language competences, raising the degree of the international profile of partner institutions, strengthening the European identity, enhancement of senior wellbeing.
