▶Objectives
In the modern world, ecological awareness and its development from an early age, i.e. in preschool children and school students, is extremely important, which is why we wanted to carry out activities shaping the sense of responsibility for changes in the environment caused by humans. We also wanted to make the participants of the project aware of the problems of packaging and shape their conscious choices in this regard. Transferring this knowledge directly in educational institutions made it possible to support a wide range of participants, including those with fewer opportunities, struggling with social barriers (from poorer families and less involved in environmental protection) or geographical barriers (from smaller towns, not large urban agglomerations). People involved in the project increased their knowledge of English and knowledge about diversity in EU countries. We also wanted to strengthen cooperation with partners (which resulted in new joint projects). Behavioral changes were needed in the individual preferences, consumption habits and lifestyles of project participants. In conclusion, we wanted to increase environmental awareness mainly among preschool children and school students.
▶Activities
"Eco-scenarios" of activities tailored to individual age groups covered by the support were developed and implemented, what initiated a series of ecological events, carried out locally in schools within cooperation with partners. These activities were aimed directly at developing ecological awareness. The culmination of a series of events introducing awareness of the necessity and impact of pro-ecological behavior from school to everyday life at home an ecological tournament with prizes was organized. Participants also prepared many works (both as part of classes and for the competition) focused on the subject and promotion of pro-ecological behavior at school and outside. Activities and the implementation of scenarios allowed for the preparation of interesting flat, spatial and multimedia works, which, created as part of the project, promoted these behaviors and shaped ecological awareness and pro-ecological attitudes. As part of the project, partner meetings were also held during which not only management issues were discussed but also schools were visited and meetings with participants, which additionally internationalized the activities and made people aware of multiculturalism in Europe and the importance of language skills.
▶Impact
The specific effect is primarily the development and implementation of attractive activities promoting pro-ecological behavior at school and beyond. Thus, we managed to implement activities that shape the sense of responsibility for changes in the environment caused by humans. We also raised awareness of problems with packaging and shaped conscious choices in this area. As part of the project, scenarios of pro-environmental classes/activities (min. 2 for each level) were developed and activities in this area were implemented, 3 tournaments shaping eco-sensitivity, 2 multimedia tournaments/kahoot quiz series (Spain and Lithuania), 12 group flat works , 14 individual and group spatial works, 7 multimedia works (Poland) together with a campaign of collecting plastic for recycling (Poland and Lithuania) where 326 kg of caps were collected (Poland) and several thousand pieces (Lithuania) for a campaign raising awareness of the problem of packaging. Material prizes, eco-gadgets and reusable cups were prepared and presented to the tournament winners. Soft results, in addition to increasing environmental awareness, are behavioral changes in the preferences, habits and lifestyles of participants, as well as awareness of the wider context.
