Objectives

To complement the provision of education and vocational training for young firefighting students with attractive methods and innovative educational tools in building their mental resilience, preventing burnout and shaping their social competence. Through this, the aim is to improve the quality of the work and practice of teachers working with young people in fire rescue courses, facilitators of psychological workshops, psychologists, students taking part in classes, firefighters working in the profession. Purpose pursued through exchange of know-how, development of workshop curricula, study visits, educational video, mobile app, PDP, ongoing study of changing conditions and mental health risks of the aforementioned groups. This led to the supplementation of the vocational education and training programme to current market needs - as a necessary element and response to current changes in the world of emergency management and emergency monitoring with stress and pressure for resilience.

Activities

On-line Project kick-off ceremony (Teams) was organised, collaboration platform established, MG and PM built, national Project coordinators appointed, project risks assessed, as well as pandemic issue and hypothetical scenarios of its impact on the Project. Ongoing monitoring of task progress, reporting, management, quality assessment. A study visit to IT and CZ was organised for students, fireschool teachers and educators, firefighters involved in training, active and retired firefighters, PSP psychologists (tools: Testimonial, conferences, open discussions, workshops, simulation games). PDP, educational video, mobile app produced. All instruments in 4 languages. Partners signed a Permanent Cooperation Agreement for current and future projects. A WhatsApp group - Erasmus Plus - was set up, cyclical meetings on line. Regular contacts (email and phone) were maintained with NAEPlus, KG PSP, SA PSP Partners evaluated the Project. Cultural blocks were realised.

Impact

The results are located on the results platform. Additional: during study visits, ideas were exchanged and discussions were held on the psychological resilience of firefighters, experiences and know-how were exchanged, awareness of the Project participants on burnout was broadened, cultural awareness of the participants was broadened, skills were gained in the international cooperation sector by formal and informal partners, organisational capacities of Partners to implement international projects were improved, attractiveness of VET was increased, professional development of educators was supported. The project inspired two female volunteers of the Foundation to study EU Project Management.
