▶Objectives
By implementing the project we wanted to improve the awareness of the students and also local community about the importance of water for our existenceand the problems related to irresponsible use of water with its devastatting effects on the future. We have established the following specific objectives: - To increase knowlegdeabout water from different perspectives- scientific, cultural, literary, artistic, historical- by at least 60% of the students - To raise students awareness of the importance of water for the humankind (min 70% of the students) - To help students identify general problems about water shortage and personalize them to their local context - To foster students civic engagement in community problems related to ecology and strenghten the role of the school in the local community - To develod student’s soft skills, creativity and cultural awareness - To improve language and digital skills - To create water-friendly schools.
▶Activities
For the first mobility students had to create a logo of the project, had to identify folk tales, stories and poems in which water is used as symbol, the students created poems, made an invitation into a water museum, and took part also on handcraft activities and trips in the surroundings with water topic. For the second mobility students did a survey about water usage in households and water drinking habits, the students took part on interactive biology lessons, took part on a Kahoot game, created posters to encourage water drinking, created a presentation about water sports facilities. On the third mobility students took part on a trip to a water treatment plant to know more about drinking water, they made hydro-maps, took part on Ebru painting class. On the fourth mobility, students took water sample and analysed it, took part on an interactive lesson about water pollution, watched films about water pollution, organised a campaign ‘Save the water for your children’, took part on a Kahoot game. On the fifth mobility, the students and teachers took part on trips in Bialystok and surroundings, took part on geography, art, robotics classes on classes, students and teachers prepared the plan for Water-friendly schools.
▶Impact
After the first mobility we had as concrete outputs/results of our project the followings: the logo of the project, different folk poems, legends translated into English, paintings about water, poems created by the students, invitation to a water museum, a booklet with poems and legends with photos. During the second mobility students made a survey about water usage in households and water drinking habits, we made a comparison what are the differences and similarities between the three regions, created posters to encourage water drinking, made an exhibition from it and created a presentation about water sports facilities. After the third mobility we had as concrete outputs/results the hydro-maps created on arts and crafts class, Ebru paintings or painting on water, the completed survey about water usage in households and water drinking habits, photos of the activities. On the fourth mobility students together with teachers took water sample and analysed it as a result we have a comparison between different results from different places, films about water pollution, flyers ‘Save the water for your children. The fifth mobility has as results posters, ppt presentation about water pollution, plan for Water-friendly schools.
