โ–ถObjectives

The primary objective was to empower a group of 50 adults with intellectual disabilities, enabling them to lead autonomous personal, professional, and social lives. This empowerment was to be achieved through a process-oriented methodology, including regular support meetings, training sessions, and utilizing the outcomes of the project to enhance their capabilities and independence. Another key objective was to promote social inclusion for the 50 adults with mental disabilities participating in the project. This was to be accomplished through the implementation of specific support and educational activities tailored to their needs, facilitating their integration into various social spheres. Additionally, the project aimed to enhance the competencies of 50 practitioners from the five participating organizations in the field of supporting people with intellectual disabilities. The focus was on equipping these practitioners with the skills and knowledge necessary to promote autonomy and independent living among individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The implementation of the CALMD project involved a range of activities aimed at achieving its objectives: Development of Methodology and Training Materials: We created a comprehensive methodology and training materials tailored for professionals working with adults with mental disabilities. These resources were designed to enhance the skills and competencies of practitioners in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities towards leading autonomous lives. This toolbox contained self-guided activities aimed at promoting independent living skills among this demographic, thereby fostering greater autonomy and self-sufficiency. MOOC Platform: We established a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform where therapeutic videos were developed.
