โถObjectives
The project primarily aimed to modernize and elevate educational offerings in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sectors by developing a comprehensive curriculum centered on Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digitalization. A key focus was bridging the gap between existing academic programs and the rapidly evolving industry demands for BIM-proficient professionals. The project also emphasized fostering robust collaboration between academia and the construction industry to ensure educational content is directly aligned with industry needs. Through the exchange of best practices and experiences among project partners, we sought to identify and address deficiencies in BIM education on an EU scale. By promoting international cooperation, the project aimed to standardize BIM education across various regions, fostering a more cohesive global approach to digital construction. Ultimately, the goal was to equip both students and current professionals with the skills required to thrive in a digitally transforming industry, thereby enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and innovation within the construction sector.
โถActivities
Throughout the project, several key activities were implemented to achieve our objectives: 1. We established a direct line of communication with AEC industry stakeholders, including companies, policymakers, and professional associations, to gather insights on current needs and trends within the industry. 2. To better understand the industry requirements, we developed and distributed an online questionnaire, which provided valuable data that helped shape our project activities. 3. Based on the gathered information, we designed and developed a curriculum focused on BIM and digitalization. This curriculum included both theoretical knowledge and practical applications, aligning with industry demands and European priorities on sustainability and digitalization. 4. We conducted pilot courses at partner higher education institutions (HEIs) to test and refine teaching methods and course materials. Real-time feedback was gathered from students, faculty members, and industry stakeholders to ensure the curriculum's relevance and effectiveness. 5. A series of events were organized in all partner countries to disseminate the project's results. These events facilitated the sharing of best practices, the exchange of experiences among partners, and engagement with a wider audience from both academia and industry. 6. We created and distributed various materials, including course manuals and guides on best practices and lessons learned, to extend the project's reach and impact (please refer to www.robim.ro). 7. Regular feedback was solicited to various stakeholders within formal and informal meetings, allowing us to continuously improve project outcomes and adapt to emerging needs.
