Unlock Big Data Storytelling Skills in European University Students
▶Summary
We applied for this project because Big Data is a critical element of economic development and innovation. Europe faces challenges such as insufficient data-driven approaches, dominance of Big Tech firms over data, personal data security issues, and a lack of Data Literacy and Data Communication skills. Our project aims to bridge these competency gaps in European university curricula, fostering close-to-work skills in students and teachers through innovative learning experiences and materials developed by a consortium of universities and start-ups from different countries and disciplines.
▶Objectives
The project aimed at achieving two main objectives: 1. Innovate higher education through digitalization and new partnerships with different economic sectors, thereby increasing employability, cooperation, and reducing skill mismatches at the European level. 2. Introduce new digital skills to increase job opportunities for youth. This involves developing open educational resources (OER) for training in Big Data Storytelling, enhancing employability by strengthening Big Data skills, and creating a European network to support EU strategies on Big Data.

The project resulted in several concrete outputs: 1. Development of open educational resources and learning modules for Big Data Storytelling. 2. Increased youth employability through strengthened Big Data skills. 3. Creation of an European network to support the EU strategy on Big Data.
