Our project aimed to achieve several operational objectives. Firstly, we sought to sensitize youth about IoT, focusing on the risks and the transformative potential of this technology. This involved educating them about privacy concerns, IoT legislation across different countries, and the ways in which IoT could revolutionize daily routines and behaviors, as well as enhance access to services. Additionally, we aimed to boost the technical competences of the youth involved in the project. Specifically, we aimed for them to develop knowledge, skills, and competencies in various technical areas related to connected objects, communication networks, and IT systems. These areas included understanding cloud system architectures, IoT communication protocols such as TCP, UDP, and IP, proficiency in programming languages like C++ and Python, PCB design, knowledge of IT security protocols like HTTPS, SSL, and single sign-on, as well as understanding of the risks and advantages associated with cookies. Overall, our objectives were to empower youth with both the knowledge of IoT's implications and the technical skills necessary to navigate and contribute to the evolving landscape of connected technologies.
