โ–ถObjectives

The primary objective of the project was to enhance resilience and adaptation to climate change in agriculture through vocational education and training (VET). By focusing on sustainable agricultural water management and agrometeorological literacy, Enhance VET Student Competencies: Improve the skills and knowledge of VET students in agrometeorological literacy and sustainable irrigation management to prepare them for real-world challenges in agriculture. Empower VET Trainers: Equip VET educators with innovative training tools, educational materials, and methodologies on topics such as smart farming, new irrigation techniques, and climate change adaptation policies. Raise Awareness: Foster greater understanding among VET students, educators, and local agricultural communities about the critical importance of climate change adaptation in agriculture. Develop Innovative Educational Resources: Design training courses focused on agrometeorological literacy and water management. Create an e-learning platform to facilitate access to training materials and provide additional resources, including self-assessment tools for farmers.

โ–ถActivities

The project included several key activities to address its goals. A needs analysis and desk research were conducted to identify gaps in agricultural VET curricula and existing policies. Training courses on agricultural water management and agrometeorological literacy were developed, along with an e-learning platform and Digital Game To build capacity, training sessions were held for VET trainers, and pilot programs were implemented for students and farmers. Awareness-raising seminars were also conducted to engage local agricultural communities. Finally, the project results were evaluated, disseminated, and shared through closing events and multiplier activities.

Policy Recommendation Report: Developed an innovative framework for agricultural VET systems focusing on climate change adaptation, sustainable water management, and agrometeorological literacy. Training Modules: Designed comprehensive courses on agricultural water management and agrometeorological literacy, incorporating theoretical knowledge, case studies, and quizzes. E-learning Platform: smartaagrovetsplatform.com Created a user-friendly platform featuring training materials, internship matching tools, and self-assessment resources for farmers. Digital Game: https://smartagrovetsplatform.com/climate-quest-the-game/ Developed a game to make learning about the impacts of climate change on agriculture engaging and accessible to a wider audience. Capacity Building: Trained VET trainers and municipal staff, equipping them with skills and resources to sustain the program beyond the project duration. Pilot Training and Community Engagement: Delivered pilot training programs to VET students and organized awareness seminars for farmers, increasing knowledge of sustainable agricultural practices. Awareness and Competency Development: Enhanced awareness among target groups regarding climate change impacts and improved their competencies in sustainable agriculture techniques. Dissemination and Sustainability: Shared project outcomes through local and international events, ensuring broad access to the tools and findings while promoting long-term sustainability.
