Design and Delivery of a VET Programme for newcomer EU Project Managers and Administrators for Charitable Organisations

The project aimed to enable charitable organisations registered in Cyprus and Greece to engage in EU-funded projects through various programs such as Erasmus+, CERV, AMIF, Creative Europe, Interreg, and Horizon Europe. Specifically, the project intended to create a Vocational Education and Training (VET) course tailored for novice or less experienced project managers and administrators from charitable organisations. The training will cover all the cycles of a project (from the conceptualisation of a project idea and the writing of the concept note, to the finding of partners, the writing of the proposal, to the project implementation during the project's life cycle and the exploitation of the project's results after the end of the project. Through the project's execution, these organisations could enhance their involvement in EU funding programmes, extending their reach beyond national boundaries. Additionally, they could contribute their expertise and valuable knowledge to project teams.

Activity 1. Project Management and Coordination: the tasks performed under this activity was the project administrative coordination and reporting, the technical management of the project and the consortium project meetings. Activity 2. Quality Assurance and Evaluation of the Project: this activity was dedicated to the design of tools and procedures to monitor the progress, quality and achievements of the project's tasks, activities and results. Activity 3. Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation: this activity was assure a wide and effective impact of the project's results, mainly by promoting and increasing awareness on the project's activities, developments and results. Activity 4. Mapping of Skills for EU project managers and administrators of charitable organisation: this activity entailed the undertaking of desk Research and analysis of the educational and training needs of project managers and administrators of charitable organisations in Cyprus and Greece. Activity 5. Design, development and delivery of the VET Course: the aim of this activity was to create a flexible and tailor made VET Programme. Activity 6. Pilot of the Course developed: three pilot activities took place. Activity 7. Final Training Course

The NEUMA Project resulted in two main concrete outcomes: 1. The development of the report which maps the required skills and needs of project managers and administrators who are employed or volunteer in charitable organisations (available at: https://neumaproject.eu/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Activity-4-Report-_-15112022.pdf). The objective of this research was to identify and evaluate the educational and training needs of the target group in the participating countries, as regards to the development of the VET course and the educational methodology. 2. The design and development of a VET Programme, which integrated the results of the skills report, in addition to already identified needs and skills. 8 different modules were developed and the material is available at https://neumaproject.eu/en/lessons/. The course delivered not only by using traditional teaching methods, but also through a continues mentoring process which enables the charitable organisations to contact the project partners and the trainers after the end of the project. Other results of the project are: Project Management Plan; Quality Assurance Plan and Report; Dissemination Strategy and Exploitation Plan; 2 pilot activities; 2 events; 1 training course.
