▶Objectives
Our aim is to provide the social workers involved in the project with comprehensive training through specially designed psychomotor activities that will facilitate their work with older people. It will also enable the elderly to improve their quality of life in terms of self-care, maintaining motor skills, eveloping balance, good coordination, fine motor skills, memory and attention. At the same time, we also focus on the social workers themselves, offering them ways to use psychomotorics to prevent burnout and maintain a harmonious personality balance for quality performance in their profession. By involving more than 100 people from the target group in the training and producing a 'methodological manual' summarising the topics discussed, including practical guidelines for working with the elderly, we will contribute to improving the quality of health care for the ageing generation and social workers who care for the elderly. Through transnational cooperation, experiences and examples of good practice will be shared between partner organisations and social workers from both countries. The printed publication will also enable us to effectively disseminate this method within the social sector. services and the public.
▶Activities
We have set up a system of work and rules for the project. Together with the Slovak partner we approached the interested persons from the social services who will follow the training programme through the employers and formed 2 study groups (CZ and SK). We then created a course directly tailored to them, PSYCHOMOTORICS IN CARING FOR THE ELDERLY, which was continuously enriched with topics reflecting the current needs of the trainees, resulting from regular communication with them and from evaluation activities. As requested, the course initially included 8 workshops, 6 webinars and 24 online consultations. Based on the interest of the trainees, we added 1 webinar and 1 workshop. At the same time we added a separate lecture to each of the 24 online consultations + also created an extra video of each lecture for study group purposes. As the training sessions took place approximately every 14 days for 17 months, the work on the project was very intensive. The organisation team was responsible for the technical support of the functioning of the whole project, the lecturer team was responsible for the the vocational part of education. We also created a project website, 4 public videos and a 'methodological manual'.
▶Impact
We organised 9 workshops, 7 webinars and 24 online consultations, during which social workers received training from Assoc. Blahutkova, especially on specific psychomotor procedures in caring for specific clients, consulted the topics discussed and techniques for caring for one's own mental health. In addition, there were 24 lectures on the subject, which arose from the needs of the participants of the training + from each lecture a video was made for the purposes of study groups. From these lectures, a summary publication 'Training of social workers in the care of the elderly through psychomotor activities' was produced, as well as 3 videos for the public. We will use these videos to disseminate the project and promote the publication. At the same time we have created a website https://psychomotorika.budelip.com. Within the project, 133 people from the target group received training and 102 trainees who met the criteria and showed sufficient orientation in the training topics received a certificate of successful completion of the course. Thanks to the use of psycho-emotional activities, the stress level of the social workers trained during the project was demonstrably reduced, as verified by standardised tests.
