Objectives

With our objectives we hoped to achieve that: - our students see different approaches to mitigate climate change and increase their level of climate literacy. - increase awareness of all aspects of climate change not only among students, but also families and local communities. - the effects of renewable energy sources on climate change were understood. - awareness of the protection and conscious use of natural resources will be created. - Together we will create an environmental awareness e-book for students.

Activities

We have carried out three 5-day LTT activities-mobilities, with the participation of 5 teachers from each partner country. In the 1st LTT, in Spain. “Ecology and Ecological Footprint” were addressed: definition and foundations; current situation in the world and in Europe; the concept of ecological footprint and the different related aspects among other topics. In the 2nd LTT, in Turkey, “Waste Management and Recycling” was worked on: concept and classification of waste, importance and recycling process; Various green school projects were presented that include: responsible and sustainable management of both the waste generated and the resources used: energy, water, etc. The hierarchy in waste management was also discussed: prevention, reduction, reuse, recycling, energy recovery, waste. The 3rd LTT, in Lithuania, focused on “Climate change, characteristics and effects”. Addressing topics such as: the concept of global climate crisis, causative factors and greenhouse gas emissions; effects of climate change on human and animal health, effects of disasters caused by climate change; components of the chemical products we use, sustainable habits, etc.

Impact

Our main objective and, therefore, the most plausible result of our project has been the creation of a digital book by the students of the three partner schools. This book includes much of the work carried out by the three centers during the execution of the project, classified into three large blocks: ecology and ecological footprint; waste and recycling management; and climate change, characteristics and effects. On the other hand, we have created a website, a Facebook profile and an Instagram profile from where we have disseminated the project and shared activities, reflections, results, etc. related to the project. We have also left evidence of our project through the different news disseminated in different media from different areas of the written press. We have also carried out three satisfactory and productive LTT activities-mobilities for the three partners, and three virtual activities that have allowed the students from the different centers to meet and interact.
