Based on the needs identified, the WUSTE project aimed mainly to achieve 3 objectives: - to raise young people's awareness of the problem of food waste, inspiring a collective reaction through knowledge and training - to contribute to the transition towards a circular economy by inspiring young workers and future entrepreneurs and sharing good practices for recycling food waste and polluting materials such as plastics - provide practical knowledge on recycling methods to the young participants, giving them empirical experience and theoretical knowledge. Thanks to the involvement of the participants in workshops and study visits during the mobilities in the 3 Partner Countries and the dissemination of the handbook produced, all objectives were achieved.

During the 20 months of the project, the following activities were implemented: A1. Desk research on the recycling potential of food waste in local handicraft and clothing production, food waste processing techniques and circular economy, and good practices of recycling and upcycling of food waste and other materials. A2. Learning mobility on the topic of food waste, climate change and circular economy in Nidge, Turkey. A3. Learning mobility on the topic of food waste recycling in clothing manufacturing and handicrafts in Valencia, Spain. A4. Learning mobility on upcycling and recycling techniques in Udine, Italy. The participants in the activities were young people between 18 and 35 years old, aspiring artisans, fashion and product designers. The participants were accompanied by one group leader per partner.

As an intellectual and final outcome of the project, the "WusTe Handbook", was produced. The handbook has been shared in open access with stakeholders and mobility participants. Furthermore, the handbook has been uploaded on the Erasmus+ Dissemination and Exploitation of Results platform and published on the official channels of all project partners. The handbook collects the documentary research carried out by the partners. Thanks to the dissemination of the handbook and the active participation of young people in the mobilities, the following results were also achieved: - increased awareness of the participants on food waste, climate crisis, circular economy and possibilities to counteract them; - acquisition of competencies, knowledge and practical skills on methods and techniques for recycling food waste and polluting materials; - empowering young people to start a recycling and upcycling business, inspiring new start-up ideas.
