With this in mind, the two main objectives pursued are: implementation of renewed strategies for the prevention of suicidal behavior and the care of survivors of serious loss. “Saving Lives: Suicide and Survivors” presses to raise community awareness and break down the taboo surrounding suicide. In line with this directive, the project was an opportunity for in-depth analysis, study and research of innovative practices and methodologies in the field, the implementation of a continuous training program for professionals and experts, and the implementation of targeted events and activities to raising community awareness for overcoming the stigma associated with suicide and mental health care. SLSS has introduced an integrated training approach for every figure in the sector, from established professionals to volunteers and has made it possible to develop fundamental bullet points for the promotion of research and higher education, without forgetting the creation of public debate and social inclusion opportunities for survivors.
